Reorganization news

Fellow Building Officials, The following 2 documents attached to this brief letter are to keep all of you apprised of the efforts of the Massachusetts Federation of Building Officials, resulting from the recent reorganization of the Department of Public Safety placing the BBRS, Building Code, State and Municipal Building Officials within the new Office of Public Safety and Inspections under the Department of Professional Licensure.

As President of the Federation I arranged a meeting on April 4, 2017 with our new Commissioner, Charles Borstel, representatives of the regional Building Official Associations and myself at Commissioner Borstel’s office in Boston. Due to the short notice of the meeting the MBCIA did not have an officer of the association available to attend. BOWM, MetroWest and SEMBOA were represented by their respective Vice Presidents.

If you have questions or wish to discuss this further please contact the Federation through your regional association’s representative to the Federation Board of Directors.
